Reese Bonner

Hailing from the small city of Macon, GA this artist completely blew me away with his Down South almost soulful rap music. I haven’t heard anything even comparably close to him since Goodie Mob, Youngbloodz, or old school Outkast. Honestly I must say that I was surprised by his lyrical content mixed with his sultry voice and production. This guy is putting his city on the map! And who is this might you ask…none other than Reese Bonner.

His most recent project, Hillside Hero 2, dropped on August 31^st. This mixtape is full of everything from club hits to babymaking slow jams to just ridin’ music. This thing is great from beginning to end! So of course when the new new is good I’m gonna go back to see if the old stuff is just as nice…and IT IS! The first Hillside Hero paints a picture of a bleak future for a man just trying to survive in a world of recession yet at the same time loving the one he’s with. On the contrary, HH2 presents a more vivid lifestyle of partying in the midst of it all and enjoying life as it comes. This musical “hero” is truly on his way to changing the game as we know it. Look for more from this guy in the future.

Put On Repeat: So Gone (featured song), Spaced Out, Dime a Dozen, H.E.R., Hurt My Pockets, Knew It Was Over, The Aces…really pretty much all of HH2 and 1/2 of the 1^st HH
